Oak Ring is a variation on one of my favourite pen plot designs, one I keep returning to.

It’s drawn with an algorithm which takes pure randomness as a starting point, but by a process of smoothing, blending and growth, produces these beautiful organic forms.

A real tree ring will be shaped by randomness as well - a hot or wet year, a lost branch, a home for insects - the rich and unpredictable world we live in leaves its mark on all of us.

I’ve often given these tree ring plots as gifts myself. The idea of slow growth, building up a beautiful form from each unique year, seems like the perfect metaphor for a relationship.

Presented on acid-free, archival cotton Photo Rag Giclée paper with a silky smooth finish, from Hahnemühle the world’s oldest mill who have been producing fine art papers for more than 500 years

Prints and shipping are end-to-end carbon neutral.

Orders are dispatched with free global shipping within 3-5 days. Thereafter, they should arrive within 1 to 2 weeks to the UK or Europe and in 2 to 3 weeks to North America. Other destinations may vary. Once your order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email.
